Confessions Tour

30th July 2006 - Cardiff Millenium Stadium

Review

The concert just blew me away, from the Future Lovers " I feel love" opening through to the energetic Hung Up ending. The word was disco and we were confessing. 10 of the 12 tracks from the album were performed and Madonna's back catalogue was sprinkled throughout. For some fans her signature tunes such as Holiday, Like A Prayer and Into the groove were secretly missed but you cannot deny this was the concert of the year drawing full inspiration from the album of the year (2005). Totally nothing like the Re-Invention tour, Madonna showed us rock with Ray of light (quite possibly my favourite segment), Disco with Erotica, acoustic with Drowned world and pure unashamed pop with Hung Up & Sorry. You couldn't help but dance the night away.

Special moments - Madonna told the audience this was the first time she'd ever been to Wales (I wanted to shout - ME TOO!!!), she said she was so glad to be playing in a stadium. I was looking forward to hearing her say 'Hello' during Hung Up as I've heard it on the US concerts and it makes me laugh but she didn't do it.

Confessions Tour

1st August 2006 - London Wembley Arena

Review

Well as I'd just seen the concert on Sunday in Cardiff I knew what to expect but I was still just as excited, if not more as I had enjoyed it so much. The arena was much smaller than Cardiff and once again I was at the back, up the slope but right in the middle, Madonna was straight ahead of me. As I expect from Madonna she did not fail to deliver again, it felt like her whole heart was in her performance, it was fantastic to say the least. The rock section just rocked me into cyberspace - "I love New York" and "Ray of light" just kicked ass big time. I also loved loved loved the "Erotica / You thrill me" disco mix with the simple yet effective dance routine.

Her special little London banter:

"Do you mind if I have a little rest right here do you, uh, it's freaking hot in here (crowd cheer), I usually tell everyone not to turn the air conditioning on and the first time I ask for it they don't have any (crowd laugh), isn't that just like life, so um, I never thought I'd be saying this about London but it's good to be home (crowd cheer), I'm not just girl fibbing you I do miss England , um I miss my house and I miss the countryside, I miss my horse, I even miss the congestion charge ok, nah I'm just kidding, we're gonna have to do something about that, but here's the important question, did you miss me? I'm, I'm not an approval junkie but I'm not sure, did you miss me? but did you really really reeeeealy miss me?(crowd cheer)"

(Madonna sees a security man) "I think you're not being very nice to my fans over here man in the orange shirt, you're supposed to let them have a good time, you're not being very nice, look at how loved up you're getting right now everybody's hugging you and hanging on you, you should be having a smile on your face, (Madonna turns to the crowd) just remember love is a two way street, yes."

I really enjoyed the video fooage throughout the concert, espcially the "Music/Disco Inferno" video and also the ticking clocks throughout "Hung Up".
