Madonna's first mention of the role of Evita was around 1986 to Simon Bates in a BBC Radio 1 interview. 10 years later here it is, the film and the soundtrack. A very welcome Madonna by the public, judging the sucess of the album and film. The album saw the release of 3 singles in the UK and 2 in the US.

Total worldwide sales 12 million. (Total for both editions of soundtrack).
